This website has been created by retired employees of British Gas (HQ).  It consists of about 1400 photographs obtained from the archives of National Grid to whom we give our thanks.

Many of them are really fascinating pictures of historical interest.  Unfortunately they are not labelled and we are putting them online hoping that gas people will be able to identify them.  We will then put together those which can be identified on a website which will celebrate the past of our industry.

They are in 25 batches of between 2 and 100 photos each.  Please do not try to view them all in one session.  If you do not think your function is properly covered - and most are not - then send photos with descriptions - see instructions here.

Please try to identify the pictures and save them for posterity!
